The Art of Bragi is a hidden gem in Freattyda that is worth discovering if you like places with good drinks, beautiful foreign music, and a lively atmosphere. With its windows open to the sea and the sea breeze filling the bar, it doesn’t take long to think that you are in some distant port and you are having fun with your friends. Tavern Ramnous
The Ramnous Tavern, despite being rather far from the city centre, is absolutely worth a visit. In the vast hall and gorgeous patio, you may sample great local meat (the lamb chops are particularly noteworthy). Also, the appetisers are prepared with great care. If you are looking for authentic flavours, large portions and an atmosphere that wins you over from the first moment, then Kamikaze in Galatsi is the place to stop. Lotza
Lotza in Ilioupoli is currently one of the best places for souvlaki in Athens. It doesn’t have gyros, but the variety, quality and taste of all their products make a visit here unforgettable. This is Loco
This is Loco is a modern and pleasant cafe in Koukaki. The space is bright and welcoming, while the food suggestions are original and excellent. In Ilioupoli there is a hidden gem of Greek creative cuisine that will truly surprise you. Fata Morgana has Imaginative dishes, impeccably executed with creative touches and full of flavours. The service is impeccable and the space (especially the interior) is originally decorated. Tip: Don’t forget to try the salad with fried goat cheese and the delicious peinirli. (Leof. Olympion
Olympion in Mets is a restaurant that is a constant reference point for those looking for homemade food in Athens. It has been operating since 2001, but its atmosphere is reminiscent of the old Athens restaurants, with warmth and simplicity. On the menu you will find classic dishes of the day such as meatballs, moussaka and pastitsio. It has fanatical patrons of all ages, who flock daily for its generous and hearty portions. Zigoala in Omonia is a recent addition that has already made waves in Athens’ dining scene. Epos Burgers Glyfada
Among the dozens of shops serving burgers in Athens, it is now really difficult to single out some that stand out. Epos in Glyfada is one of them. With an excellent smash burger and fluffy, delicious bun, its burgers stand out for their quality. In Argyroupoli, a neighbourhood that has always stood out for its beer halls, Beerla stands out with its distinctive bar atmosphere. The new arrival for souvlaki in Athens that everyone is talking about is located in Hymettusves old-fashioned pork or chicken souvlaki and juicy burgers, wrapped or in pieces. Gioma in Agios Dimitrios is no longer a hidden secret. From a neighbourhood tavern, it has now evolved into a meeting point for all of Athens. In the warm and welcoming space with its cheerful decoration, you will taste delicious Greek cuisine in hearty portions and good prices. Floutsou, the much-talked-about sandwich spot in Athens, has sparked both admiration and criticism. Most of the negative feedback centres on its pricing rather than its quality. And indeed, the quality of the ingredients is excellent, as evidenced by the well-balanced, flavourful results across the menu. Yiasemi Cottage
The beloved cafe Yiasemi, which made history in Plaka, is starting a new era on the pedestrian street of Irakleidons in Thissio. The space is small but beautifully and colorfully decorated, while the open kitchen creates a sense of intimacy. The space is unique mainly for coffee and dessert but also offers some daily dishes. Armenovil
The best Armenovil in Thessaloniki can now be found in Athens, after it acquired its first store near the Petralona electric train station. It is as delicious, refreshing and enjoyable as you can imagine. Veraman
Veraman – Surprise your senses in Hymettus Square is a cute little shop, with a very kind staff that makes one of the most delicious crepes in Athens. Even those with few ingredients are delicious. Libro D’Oro
This small delivery and takeaway shop in Ano Patisia is a hidden gem known mainly to the residents of the area. Here they make one of the best old school pizzas in Athens, with a particularly delicious and crispy dough. And the prices, however, seem to have remained in previous decades. If you’re looking for your new favourite hangout in Vyronas, Trikouverto is definitely worth a visit. Nestled among the neighbourhood’s apartment blocks, it has created a small oasis of relaxed vibes.
